The Best Medicare Options For You
Providing You With The Best Option
Medicare is the gold standard in health insurance.
It provides coverage to people 65 years old and older, as well as those who have certain disabilities or have any type of ESRD (end-stage renal disease). For most Medicare plans, there's no premium owed by you- it covers everything, including doctor visits and hospital stays, at normal Medicare rates! The Different Parts of Medicare
Part A
Hospital insurance
Covers things like inpatient hospital stays, home health care and some skilled nursing facility care.
Part B
Medical insurance
Covers things like doctor visits, outpatient services, X-rays and lab tests, and preventive screenings.
Part C
Medicare Advantage
Private health insurance companies offer Medicare Advantage plans, also known as Medicare Part C. You're provided the coverage of Original Medicare plus extra benefits and protection.
Part C
Prescription drug coverage
Medicare Part D is outpatient prescription drug coverage. To get drug coverage, you must join a Medicare- approved plan, such as a Medicare Advantage plan with drug coverage or a standalone Medicare prescription drug plan.
What does Medicare Part A cover?
Part A (hospital coverage) covers things like inpatient hospital stays, home health care and some skilled nursing facility care. Together, Medicare Parts A and B are called Original Medicare.
Is Medicare Part A free?
Typically, most people don’t pay for Part A; As long as you worked for at least 10 years in your lifetime in the United States, most of the time you will not pay a dime. However, if you don't qualify for premium-free Part A, it can be purchased for a monthly premium. This amount may vary each year and is based on how long you or your spouse worked and paid Medicare taxes.
Part A has a hospital admission deductible that at the time of this writing is $1,736.
Part A also has daily hospital copays that start at days 61-90 and they go up for days 91-150
Part A also has a daily copay for Skilled Nursing Care that starts on day 21 and goes thru day 100.
Medicare Supplement
Medicare supplement insurance was created by private companies to fill in any gaps left uncovered when you have original Medicare. These can include deductibles, copays, and your liability for 20% cost-sharing with the original plan, but these plans typically do not come equipped with a network, so providers must accept them; otherwise, there would be nothing stopping someone from using them!
